Coin cells shouldn't be disposable.
Almost every household has a handful of devices running on 20mm coin cells — tracking tags, key finders, car remotes, bathroom scales, watches, thermometers, tealight candles. Each one takes a battery you use once, throw away, and buy again. Multiply that across a few devices and a few years, and it adds up to a surprising amount of money and a small pile of lithium heading to landfill.
TagCharge exists to offer the obvious alternative: a coin cell the same size as the one already in your device, that you can charge and use over and over again.
What we sell
We supply LIR2032 rechargeable lithium-ion coin cells and a compact USB-C charger for them. LIR2032 cells share the same 20mm × 3.2mm footprint as the familiar CR2032, so they physically drop straight into the same battery compartment. Instead of replacing the cell, you recharge it.
Our cells are manufactured to IEC 62133-2 battery safety certification and UN38.3 transport certification, and we hold the test documentation for the cells we sell.
Safety is the part we won't compromise on
Button and coin batteries are genuinely dangerous if swallowed, particularly by small children. Since 2022 Australia has had mandatory safety standards for button batteries — and a lot of coin cells sold online here, especially by overseas sellers shipping direct, simply don't meet them.
Every TagCharge pack ships in child-resistant blister packaging that complies with AS 5808:2020, carries the required warnings and the IEC child-safety pictogram, and lists the Poisons Information Centre number. Our packaging tears into individual compliant singles, so each cell keeps its warnings with it rather than ending up loose in a drawer.

Australian, and straight with you
We're based in Sydney and ship anywhere in Australia. That means local stock, local support, and packaging built for Australian rules rather than repackaged and forwarded from overseas.
It also means being upfront about the trade-off: a rechargeable LIR2032 holds less energy per charge than a single-use CR2032, so it will need topping up more often. In a device you can easily open, that's a fair swap for never buying another battery. In something you'd rather set and forget for years, a single-use cell may still suit you better. We'd rather tell you that before you buy than after.
